What do you buy a dachshund owner who already has everything?
Skip the generic sausage dog merchandise and give them something that could only belong to them. The Personalised Miniature Dachshund Word Art Print is built from the owner’s own words, so the finished piece is a portrait of their dog’s personality rather than a stock design.
It suits the friend who talks about their dachshund constantly, the sibling who has just got a puppy, or the parent whose dog has become a full member of the family. Fill it with the name, the nicknames, the daft habits and the places they love. At £9.99 for the digital download, it is also an easy add-on to a bigger present. What is a good Christmas gift for a first-time dachshund owner?
New owners are usually in the thick of puppy chaos, and a print that captures the early days is a lovely way to mark it. The same Miniature Dachshund print works well here, with words about the first weeks: the day they came home, the name they were nearly given instead, the first thing they chewed.
A framed print is a thoughtful upgrade. Framed A4 starts from £22.99 and framed A3 from £30.99, and it arrives ready to hang. If you are buying early, choose a framed print for a keepsake feel. If Christmas is close, the digital download gets you a finished design straight away.
What can you give someone who is missing their dachshund?
Christmas can be hard for someone who has lost a dog. A personalised print can be a quiet, kind way to remember them, using the dog’s name, the years they shared and the little things their owner misses most. It is a gift that says the dog mattered, which is often exactly what the person wants to hear.
Keep the wording warm and specific rather than formal. Our guides to dog memorial gifts and comforting dog memorial quotes have plenty of ideas for the right words, and you can use the Miniature Dachshund print as the base.
What should you buy for a family with more than one dog?
Many dachshund households are mixed-breed households, and it is worth matching the print to each dog. The shop covers 130+ breeds, so you can pair the dachshund print with another that suits a second dog. Each is £9.99 as a digital download, so a set is very affordable.

What words to put on a dachshund print
This is where the print becomes a real gift. Think about the things that only the owner would recognise, and avoid generic dog words unless they truly fit. Here are three example word lists to borrow from.
The funny one
Sausage, Daphne, wiggle, tunnel-maker, sock thief, “just five more minutes”, duvet burrower, professional barker, snack radar, sofa king. This suits an owner who loves their dog’s cheeky side. Swap in the dog’s real name and the habits you know about.
The sentimental one
Loyal, cuddles, home, “my shadow”, warm lap, 2023, best friend, always there, family, comfort. This works well for a gift to a parent or partner, or for marking a rescue anniversary. Adding the date they came home gives it a personal anchor.
The new puppy one
Tiny paws, first walk, chewed slipper, puppy breath, sleepless nights, sunbeam, brave, curious, cuddles, forever home. This is a lovely gift for a first-time owner, capturing the early days before they blur together.
A good rule is to mix three or four sentimental words with several funny, specific ones. Names, dates and places make the print feel unmistakably theirs.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good Christmas gift for someone who loves dachshunds?
A personalised print is a strong choice because it is about their own dog, not dachshunds in general. A Personalised Miniature Dachshund Word Art Print lets you add their dog’s name, nicknames and favourite habits. It starts at £9.99 as a digital download.
Can I get a dachshund print in time if I am buying late?
Every print can be a digital download that arrives instantly, from £9.99. You can print it at home or at a local print shop the same day, and you see a free preview first. Framed and unframed prints are posted, taking 3-5 working days in the UK, so they suit buyers with a little more time.
How much does a framed dachshund print cost?
Framed A4 prints start from £22.99 and framed A3 prints from £30.99. An unframed print starts from £9.99 and a digital download from £9.99. The price depends on the format you choose, not on how many words you add.
What should I write on a dachshund word art print?
Use words that only the owner would recognise: the dog’s name, nicknames, favourite sleeping spot, the sounds they make and the things they steal. A date such as the day they came home also works well. Mixing funny and sentimental words tends to give the best result.
Is there a gift for someone who has lost their dachshund?
Yes, a personalised print can be a gentle way to remember a dog, using their name, the dates and the habits their owner misses most. Our guide to dog memorial gifts has more ideas. It is best to keep the wording warm and personal rather than formal.
Do you make prints for other dog breeds as well?
Yes, the shop covers 130+ breeds, so you can match the print to the dog you are buying for. That is handy if you are shopping for a family with more than one dog. Each print is made to order with the words you choose.
